How Piconero works

Launch on Piconero and your coin follows Monero's supply and emission shape. Piconero is a token launchpad on Solana, built entirely on Meteora: the Dynamic Bonding Curve (DBC) sells the coin, and at graduation DBC moves it to a DAMM v2 pool. There is no custom on-chain program to trust; the rules live in one DBC config that every coin uses.

Supply: Monero's M

  • 18,446,744.073709551 supply, 9 decimals, minted once by DBC when the coin launches. That is Monero's M: 2^64 − 1 piconero, read as whole coins.
  • Mint authority and freeze authority are revoked. The config uses DBC's fixed-supply mode with an immutable token, so no one, including us, can ever mint more. Each coin page reads the mint account and shows the check.
  • Paired with wXMR. Coins trade against wXMR, wrapped Monero on Solana (12 decimals, one wXMR per XMR), issued by the wxmr.io bridge. These are ordinary SPL tokens: every trade is public on Solana. Prices show in µXMR per coin (millionths of an XMR), with dollars second.

The emission curve

Monero's block reward shrinks smoothly, with no halvings, until it reaches a small permanent tail. The bonding curve mirrors that. It has 16 segments: Emission 1 to Emission 15, then the Tail. Every emission segment raises the same XMR and sells a constant factor fewer coins than the one before, so the price rises by the same step (about 20%) at each one: smooth, with no price cliff to snipe. The tail is deep and nearly flat (its price moves about 8%): it sells about 5% of the supply just before graduation. It is one continuous curve made of 16 Meteora constant-product segments.

There is one curve for every coin: Monero curve, graduating at 13 XMR raised, the XMR raised before the coin moves to Meteora DAMM v2. A coin starts at about 0.3358 × the target in fully diluted value and graduates at about 5.372 × the target (16× its start). The curve is an immutable DBC config.

  • Monero curve: graduates at 13 XMR raised, starting near 4.37 XMR fully diluted.

Most of the supply is sold on the curve. The rest goes into the DAMM v2 pool at graduation together with all the XMR raised. That split is not a setting: DBC puts exactly (XMR raised ÷ graduation price) coins into the pool, so the pool opens at the price the curve ended at. A small unsold leftover is burned.

Every coin wears the curve as a rosette: 16 rings, one per segment, innermost first, drawn from the coin's mint address so each coin has its own. Finished segments are drawn in full, the one selling now is lit in orange as far as it has sold, and a graduated coin's rosette is full.

Where the fees go

  • Every trade on the curve pays a 1% fee, collected in wXMR.
  • Anti-snipe: in a coin's first 3 seconds the fee starts at 49.99% and drops every second (49.99% / 33.66% / 17.33% / 1%). The creator's first buy, inside the launch transaction, pays 1%. Without a first buy, the first outside buyer may pay up to 49.99%.
  • Meteora's protocol takes 20% of it. Of the rest, the creator share is 75% and the platform 25%. Where the creator share goes is the launch mode, fixed at launch: to the coin's creator (Creator mode), as native XMR to a Monero address the creator binds at launch (Stealth payout mode), or into buying the coin back and burning it (Tail burn mode).
  • So per fee: 60% creator share, 20% platform, 20% Meteora. The platform's part splits into 15% buyback & burn and 5% treasury.
  • A keeper claims the platform's share in wXMR. It sends 25% of what comes in to the treasury (memo moneropad treasury), buys the native $PICO coin with the rest (on its bonding curve, or on its Meteora DAMM v2 pool once it has graduated) and burns every coin it buys (memo moneropad buyback & burn). The Burns page lists burns straight from the chain.
  • After graduation, 100% of the DAMM v2 liquidity is permanently locked: 20% platform, 80% creator share. The pool's 1% fee is paid to those positions, so the platform's LP fees are split the same way.
  • Unsold curve leftovers (a small part of a coin's supply) are burned when the coin graduates.

Burning removes coins from supply forever. It describes what the fees do; it is not a promise about price or returns.

Creator mode

The creator share (60% of every trading fee) is the creator's, in wXMR. It builds up in the coin's DBC pool and the creator claims it on the coin page with the wallet that launched it. After graduation the creator also holds 80% of the locked DAMM v2 liquidity and claims its LP fees.

Stealth payout mode

Stealth payout: the creator share (60% of every trading fee, 80% of LP fees after graduation), paid out as native XMR to the address bound at launch, after bridge fees. Amounts depend on trading volume and can be zero. Monero keeps what happens after a payout lands private; the address itself is public in the launch memo, and the trading and fee claims on Solana are public like any Solana transaction.

  • The launch transaction carries the memo moneropad xmr payout: v1 <address>, signed by the creator. That binds the address for good: there is no way to change it. A coin launched without exactly one such memo has no payout address, and its creator share goes to the platform.
  • The config pays the share to the distributor, which holds it and owes it to the address. Payouts are automatic once 0.1 XMR or more is owed (the wXMR bridge's minimum): the distributor unwraps it through the bridge, which sends native XMR to the address and takes 0.1%.
  • The bridge takes its fee out of the payout. Every payout shows its gross, the bridge fee and the net amount, with the payout transaction. If the bridge refunds a payout, what comes back is owed again, minus the refund's costs.
  • A separate bridge-sender key, funded per payout with exactly that payout, signs the bridge deposit. It never holds anything else.

Tail burn mode

Monero's tail emission, inverted: instead of minting a little forever, the coin buys itself back and burns it forever. The creator share (60% of every trading fee) never reaches the creator. The config pays it to the distributor, which owes it to the coin's burn and spends it buying the coin on its own curve (or its DAMM v2 pool after graduation) and burning every coin it buys, memo moneropad tail burn.

  • Buys come in slices sized so that one slice moves the price at most 5%.
  • Every burn is on chain and listed on the Burns page and the coin page. Burning removes coins from supply; it is not a promise about price.

wXMR

  • wXMR is wrapped Monero on Solana: an SPL token with 12 decimals (one atom per piconero), issued by the wxmr.io bridge. Mint WXMRyRZhsa19ety5erZhHg4N3xj3EVN92u94422teJp.
  • Wrapping XMR to wXMR is free; unwrapping wXMR to XMR costs 0.1%. Both have a 0.1 XMR minimum.
  • No wXMR? Pay with SOL: the trade panel swaps SOL to wXMR and buys in one transaction.
  • The Monero symbol beside XMR amounts is the Monero Project's (press kit, CC BY-SA 4.0, resized). Piconero is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Monero Project.
